SurePays' Commitment to Protect the Privacy of our Customers:

We will protect the confidentiality of your information and the financial resources with which you entrust us. We value the relationship between SurePay and our customers and understand the responsibility we have in maintaining your trust.

The privacy of your information is protected by local laws but by our promise and commitment to you.

Recognition of a Customer's Expectation of Privacy

SurePay recognizes and respects the privacy expectations of our customers. The confidentiality and security of your personal information is important to us and we have taken steps to ensure your continued confidence in our institution. We have established policies and guidelines to ensure that the highest level of confidentiality is maintained.

Disclosure of Privacy Principles to Customers

SurePay has issued this privacy statement in order to provide our customers with an understanding of the Bank's privacy policies. If you have any questions or concerns regarding SurePay's privacy statement, please contact us.

Use, Collection and Retention of Customer Information

It is the policy of SurePay that both the financial records of our customers and the relationships with SurePay and our customers are confidential. SurePay collects, retains and uses information about its individual customers and their relationship with us only when the Bank reasonably believes it would be useful (and to the extent allowed by law) in administering our organization's business and in providing products, services and other opportunities to our customers. We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms;
  • Information about your transactions with us;
  • Information about your transactions with nonaffiliated third parties;
  • Information from a consumer reporting agency; and
  • Information we receive as a result of verifying customer information.

    The collection of such information allows us to better serve our customers' needs by offering products and services that we feel may be the most beneficial to you.

    Please include your name as it appears in your account title, address and Social Security number in your correspondence. This correspondence must also be signed.

    There may be instances where SurePay may be legally required to disclose information about our customers. It is the policy of SurePay to cooperate with the governmental agencies in their properly made, legitimate requests for information, such as a subpoena or court order, in order to prevent fraud or to comply with such governmental agencies or federal regulators. Under these circumstances, only the specific information required by applicable law, subpoena or court order will be disclosed.

    Protection of Information via Established Security Procedures

    SurePay maintains appropriate security standards and procedures regarding unauthorized access to customer information. We are constantly testing and implementing security enhancements to ensure the integrity of our Internet Payment system. If you use our Internet Payment service, your transaction information will always travel the Internet with encryption protection. PIN guessing is deterred and reported. It is the user's responsibility to change their PIN at intervals and we encourage them to do so.

    Maintenance of Accurate Information

    SurePay has established procedures to ensure that our customers' financial information is accurate, current and complete in accordance with reasonable commercial standards. SurePay will respond to any customer requests to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner.

    Limiting Employee Access to Information

    SurePay limits employee access to personally identifiable information to those with a business reason for knowing such information. Following strict guidelines, employees are allowed access to the information needed to perform their job functions and to carry out our goal of providing quality customer service. Our employees have been informed of the critical nature of customer confidentiality and are trained to understand the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy issues.

    Restrictions on the Disclosure of Account Information

    SurePay does not reveal specific information about customer accounts or other personally-identifiable data to unaffiliated third parties for their independent use, except for the exchange of information with reputable information reporting agencies to maximize the accuracy and security of such information or in the performance of routine payment functions by SurePay:

  •    The information is needed to complete a customer-initiated transaction ;
  •    The customer requests it in writing; and/or,
  •    The disclosure is required by/or allowed by law such as in the case of subpoenas, court orders or investigations of fraudulent activity.

    Maintaining Customer Privacy in Business Relationships with Third Parties

    There are times when SurePay may contract with a third party to provide customer services, such as a check vendor or ATM processor. If personably-identifiable customer information is provided to such a third party, SurePay insists that the third party adhere to similar privacy principles that provide for keeping such information confidential.

    E-Mail

    If you choose to contact us via e-mail, please keep in mind that your e-mail address and any other information your e-mail header shows about you, such as your name or organization, will be revealed to us in the e-mail. Various employees of SurePay may see the information you submit in the course of their official duties. Rest assured, however, that when you communicate with us via e-mail, we will use your information only for the specific purpose of responding to your comment or questions. Your e-mail address will not be sold, nor will it be shared with others outside the bank unless we are compelled to do so by law.

    When you choose to send e-mail to SurePay, you are consenting to the bank's using the information provided therein, including personally identifying information, in accordance with this notice.

    Electronic mail is not necessarily secure against interception. If your information is very sensitive, or includes personal or confidential information, such as your bank account, charge card or social security number, you may want to send it by postal mail.

    We reserve the right to change this policy at any time by posting a new privacy policy. This policy is not SurePay's annual privacy notice. Annual notices are delivered in an alternative format.
